In Defence of Marxism
In What Is To Be Done?, Lenin famously said that “without revolutionary theory there can be no revolutionary movement.” In Defense of Marxism provides theoretical analysis of current issues and questions relating to history, philosophy, economics, science and culture. There has never been a more pressing need for a response that can cut through the bourgeois and reformist distortions about Marxism.
The theme of the 47th issue is proletarian internationalism. We trace the history of the struggle to defend the idea of world revolution, especially after 1914, when the Socialist International betrayed its own anti-war resolutions and gave wholehearted support to the imperialist war. It was this war which inevitably gave way to revolution and ultimately to the foundation of a new, Communist International. This period contains invaluable lessons for revolutionary activists today.
