I was at a Christmas church service last Sunday where I met a woman who works as a translator for the UN, the G7, Parliament, etc. The pastor spoke of the desire for peace and how the world seems further away from it than ever. She confessed to me that she feels responsible, every day translating the words of the respectable ladies and gentlemen in politics in their dirty backroom dealings. She told me how there are days where the translators meet outside the building after work and cry about all of the lies and hypocrisy they are paid to repeat. The international “rules based order” of the bourgeoisie has been so utterly exposed by their actions in the past years that even their translators can’t help but cry. When their order falls, who will defend them?
