Nov. 4 saw the first day of what could be a ground-breaking strike of CUPE education workers in Ontario. Faced with a poverty contract, back-to-work legislation passed before the strike even began, and the Ford government attempting to use the Notwithstanding Clause to overrule their right to strike, workers defied the law to picket at Queen’s Park. They were joined by thousands of supporters, including members of Fightback. Our own comrades in the CUPE 4400 Rank-and-File group are on strike, and advocating for militant tactics so that the strike will win.
Here we share photos and videos from the day’s strike.
