If you think there is no correlation between the devastating hurricanes hitting the U.S. at the moment and the ongoing genocide in Gaza, think again! Research has shown that the CO2 emissions from the first 120 days of Israel’s criminal war on Gaza exceeded the annual emissions of 26 countries (!!!). We are now over 365 days into this massacre, and people in the Middle East had their food spoiling in their fridge from the intensity of the heat this summer. Moreover, we’re seeing an increase in climate catastrophes and unusual weather all over the world, while our leaders invest more and more into Israel and less and less into measures against climate change.
People in Florida are struggling to evacuate as fuel is out, traffic is jammed, hotel and flight prices have skyrocketed, and not a single tax dollar was used to help any of those people evacuate. In the meantime, the U.S. just mobilized troops and sent 8.9 BILLION dollars to fund Israel’s nightmarish war on Gaza that is now expanding to Lebanon, Yemen, and seemingly the rest of the Middle East.
There is no impasse to the survival of humanity like the impasse of capitalism and the profit motive. None of these leaders will move a finger to save their own populations from doom, but are more than happy supporting a genocidal state that is sowing destruction all over the world.
