After a few weeks of campaigning, we are pleased to announce that we have raised $106,000 for our Winter Financial Appeal, surpassing our initial goal of $100,000. This fantastic result is thanks to the sacrifices of hundreds of activists and supporters across Canada to build the Revolutionary Communist Party.
This collective effort will help us to sustain important new developments. We have just hired three new full-time organizers to help develop the work of our comrades. As well, comrades in our Western Canada regional office in Edmonton have purchased a new printer, with which they have just printed the very first issue of Communist Revolution! This acquisition will help support the rapid development in the West. Finally, on Dec. 1, our Montreal comrades moved into a brand new office. Their old location was far too small for the number of full-time organizers who help the comrades build in Quebec.
We now turn our focus to the 14th edition of the Montreal Marxist Winter School, where we aim to gather 700 participants on February 16 and 17 for a weekend of education under the theme In Defense of Lenin. This Marxist gathering, which over time has become the largest in North America, will also be the occasion to officially launch a new Revolutionary Communist Party! Nearly 350 people have already registered, including participants from Europe and the U.S.A., as well as large delegations from Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec.
