Capitalism is bringing hell on earth. Genocide, war, and environmental destruction wreak havoc around the globe.
In every country, the capitalist bloodsuckers are demanding ever more money for militarism and war. In Canada, our Liberals are now bragging about doubling the military spending in the next period.
They constantly ask for money for their imperialist wars. We, the RCP, are now launching our own fundraising effort for the only just war: the class war.
But there is another side to these dark times: thousands are looking for an alternative. Massive class struggle is coming, including revolution at a certain point. The forces of revolutionary communism—organized in the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP)—are preparing for this.
Already in the past year we founded the RCP, grew to 800 members, launched a new paper, Communist Revolution, and last but not least, participated in the founding of the Revolutionary Communist International.
Now we are setting our sights on a new milestone: reaching 1,000 members in 2025. But organizing takes money. So we’ve set the goal of raising $450,000 to fund our operations in 2025.
The bedrock of a revolutionary communist party is its ideas. But without organization, “even if you are right a thousand times over, you will not win,” as Trotsky said. A serious party needs a professional paper, website, finances, and organizers on the ground to assist the work of our hundreds of members.
In 2025 alone, we will need to hire four new staff members to satisfy the needs of our growing organization. This includes hiring our very first organizer in British Columbia, an area where we expanded significantly in the last period.
We will also need new staff members to help us improve the production of the paper, website and general technical operations. All this requires more funding. That’s why we aim to raise $450,000 in one-off donations, in addition to the monthly contributions of our members and supporters, in 2025. The first leg of this is our fundraising campaign to raise $175,000 this winter.
A strong party of 1,000, with a professional apparatus, will be a significant leap toward the mass communist party that can play a decisive role in events, and eventually lead the working class to overthrow capitalism in Canada. To make this a reality, we need your help.
